October 3,2007 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> am.,October 3,2007 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall,President Stonecipher presiding. Upon roll call it was found that <br /> Mayor Stephenson;Council Members Roberts.Krell,Hattoe,Nielsen. <br /> Stonecipher,and Overstreet were present Council Member Gipson was <br /> excused. <br /> Council Member Overstreet led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the September 25,2007 City Council meeting were <br /> approved as panted. Council Members Hallos and Roberts abstained <br /> from the vote. <br /> MAVOR <br /> Mayor Stephenson stated that today is an important day for the future of <br /> Everett.He encouraged attendance ala town hell meeting this evening.7 <br /> p.m.,at the Hansen Conference Center.There will be an opportunity for <br /> elevens to express why they would like to see the University of • <br /> Washington in our community. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Hallos reported that he attended the National League of <br /> Cities'155 Annual Leadership Conference last week.The focus of the <br /> conference was cultural ads,and specifically developing skills in the art of <br /> listening. <br /> Council Member Roberts reported that he attended the Sustainable Cities <br /> Conference. Dealing with ways to have more efficient fuel/energy <br /> consumption was an important topic of discussion at the conference. <br /> Council Member Overstreet reported that he also attended the <br /> Sustainable Cities Conference. He complimented Council Member <br /> Roberts on his job as the keynote speaker at the conference. <br /> 322 <br />
