November 14,2007 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> am.,November 14,2007 in the City Cou nil Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall,President Stonecipher presiding. Upon roll call it was found that <br /> Mayor Stephenson;Council Members Roberts,Olson,Hatloe,Nielsen, <br /> and Stonecipher were present.Council Mei.Pipers Gipson and Overstreet <br /> were excused. <br /> Council Member Olson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the November 7,2007 Everett City Council meeting were <br />• <br /> approved as printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> Mayor Stephenson proclaimed November 14,2007 as'Eliminate Violence <br /> Against Women Day"In the city of Everett and urged residents to support <br /> the fight to advance the status of women worldwide. He presented the <br /> proclamation to Isbell Juntila representing the Zonta Club. <br /> REPORT—GOLF UPDATE <br /> Paul Kaflanski,Parks Director,gave an update of the citys golf program. <br /> He concluded by stating that the business strategy is working and thanked <br /> the mayor and city council for their support. <br /> Mayor Stephenson reminded everyone that tomorrow is a significant <br /> milestone date in the history of Everett. The preferred location for the <br /> University of Washington extension program will be announced and he <br /> remains optimistic that Everett will be chosen.He thanked everyone for <br /> their support including the community,former Mayor Ed Hansen,Greg <br /> Timid!,and Jim Longus. <br /> 377 <br />
