J The regular meeting of the Evanerett uary City16,Co2006 uncil was called to order at 6:30 p.m.,January 16,2008,in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall,President Nielsen presiding.Upon roll call it was found that Mayor Stephenson and Council Members Roberts,Olson,Hatloe,Gipson, Nielsen,Stonecipher and Affholter were present. Council Member Gipson led the Pledge of Allegiance. The minutes of the January 0,2008 City Council meeting were approved as printed. MAYOR PROCLAMATION Mayor Stephenson proclaimed January 16 through 20,2008 as'Dr. Martin Luther King,Jr.Days" He stated that he will present the proclamation ata community celebration at the First United Methodist Church on January 29,2008. OC ICCIL Council Member Roberts offered his condolences to the family of Council Member Hatloe. He stated that he had the opportunity to be down In Olympia with the Mayor and Council Members Affholter and Nielsen to put forth the Citya legislative agenda. Council Member Affhoker reported on his attendance at the Parks Board retreat this past weekend. Council Member Nielsen recognized that a number of citizens had signed up to speak regarding Japanese Gulch.He stated that them is no matter before the City Council regarding Japanese Gulch on tonight's agenda. He remarked that the gulch is partly within the City limits of Mukiiteo and partly within the City limits of Everett.The City of Everett is very receptive to entering into an interlocal agreement with the City of Muklkeo by which if the City of Mukilteo acquires any property in the gulch for the purposes 15
