J <br /> The regular meeting of the Evanerett uary City16,Co2006 uncil was called to order at 6:30 <br /> p.m.,January 16,2008,in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall,President Nielsen presiding.Upon roll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson and Council Members Roberts,Olson,Hatloe,Gipson, <br /> Nielsen,Stonecipher and Affholter were present. <br /> Council Member Gipson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the January 0,2008 City Council meeting were approved <br /> as printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> Mayor Stephenson proclaimed January 16 through 20,2008 as'Dr. <br /> Martin Luther King,Jr.Days" He stated that he will present the <br /> proclamation ata community celebration at the First United Methodist <br /> Church on January 29,2008. <br /> OC ICCIL <br /> Council Member Roberts offered his condolences to the family of Council <br /> Member Hatloe. He stated that he had the opportunity to be down In <br /> Olympia with the Mayor and Council Members Affholter and Nielsen to put <br /> forth the Citya legislative agenda. <br /> Council Member Affhoker reported on his attendance at the Parks Board <br /> retreat this past weekend. <br /> Council Member Nielsen recognized that a number of citizens had signed <br /> up to speak regarding Japanese Gulch.He stated that them is no matter <br /> before the City Council regarding Japanese Gulch on tonight's agenda. <br /> He remarked that the gulch is partly within the City limits of Mukiiteo and <br /> partly within the City limits of Everett.The City of Everett is very receptive <br /> to entering into an interlocal agreement with the City of Muklkeo by which <br /> if the City of Mukilteo acquires any property in the gulch for the purposes <br /> 15 <br />
