May 7,2008 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> a.m.,May T,2008 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Nielsen presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson,Council Members Roberts,Olson,Hatloe,Gipson,Nielsen, <br /> Stonecipher and Aflholter were present. <br /> Council Member Aflholter led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the May 1,2008 Everett City Council Meeting were <br /> approved as printed. Council Member Stonecipher abstained from the <br /> vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephenson thanked Council Member Stonecipher for serving on <br /> the Riverfront Committee. <br /> PROCLAMATION—OLDER AMERICANS MONTH <br /> Mayor Stephenson proclaimed the month of May,as Older Americans <br /> Month and presented the proclamation to George Brown representing the <br /> seniors and the Senior Center. He thanked the mayor and counnl <br /> members for their support of senior programs in the coy and Indicated with <br /> the Baby Boomer Generation growing older there will be an Increased <br /> need for support in the future. <br /> PROCLAMATION—EVERETT ELKS'YOUTH RECOGNITION <br /> Mayor Stephenson proclaimed May 8,2008,as Everett Elks'Youth <br /> Recognition Day.William Vincent accepted the proclamation on behalf of <br /> the Everett Elks. He stated that the organtration is honoring eighteen <br /> students this year. <br /> 135 <br />
