• <br /> May 21,2008 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> p.m.,May 21,2008,1n the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Nielsen presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Council <br /> Members Roberts,Olson,Hatioe,Gipson,Nielsen,Stonecipher and <br /> Affhotter were present.Mayor Stephenson was excused. <br /> Council Member Ham led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the May 14,2008 City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed.Council Members Roberts and Olson abstained from the vote. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Roberts stated that he attended the rollout of the 777 <br /> Freighter at Boeing,the Intemational Council for Local Environmental <br /> Initiatives Conference with Pet McClain, and the Port Gardner <br /> Neighborhood meeting to discuss traffic concerns. <br /> Council Member Olson stated that for the better part of the last decade <br /> the officials in Everett along with officials web various Chambers of <br /> Commerce in Snohomish County have identified one of the top economic <br /> development projects to be potential commercial aviation at Paine Field. <br /> In that context he remarked that he is particularly disappointed that <br /> Snohomish County has reacted in such a strong negative manner to the <br /> limited end very modest proposal from Aliegiant. Airlines to offer <br /> commercial <br /> inial air service at Paine Field.He requested the.the matter of the <br /> subject be placed on the council agenda at the earliest opportunity upon <br /> the Mayor's return from his trade development trip. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> Interim City Attorney Chris Knapp requested ans ecutive session <br /> regarding three real estate matters. The session isexpend to last <br /> approximately 25 minutes with no anticipated announcement to follow. <br /> 152 <br />
