• <br /> June 25,2008 <br /> AGREEMENT—PARKS SIGNAGE AND FLAG STANDARDS <br /> Moved by Council Member Affholter,seconded by Council Member <br /> Stonecipher to authorize the Mayor to sign a professional services <br /> agreement with Worthy end Associates, LLC to develop a <br /> comprehensive system-wide park signage and flag pole standards <br /> program in the amount of$74,931.00. <br /> Paul Kafianski,Perks Director,introduced Jeff Price,the Parks Business <br /> Program Manager.Jeff gavean ew of the project,a signage and <br /> flagpole review,and recommendation plan for the parks. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher voiced that public comment should be <br /> included in this process. <br /> Council Member Affhober questioned if signage would be coordinated <br /> throughout the city. <br /> Council Member Olson voiced concern with the need for this project and <br /> the inclusion of flag pole standards. <br /> Mayor Stephenson suggested the need to include maintenance and care <br /> of signs and poles. <br /> Council Member Gipson asked that we keep our diverse population in <br /> mind regarding signage. He also questioned what the status is of the <br /> totem pole. <br /> Council Member Roberts questioned what will happen with the <br /> recommendation. <br /> Paul Kaflanski responded that this work will result in sign types with <br />• specifications.There will be a design conceptual process that the public <br /> and Parks Board will be pad of.A decisbn will be made and then it will <br /> go on to the bid process.A final report will be issued in approximately six <br /> months. <br /> 197 <br />
