July 9,2008 <br /> A meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 a.m., <br /> July 9,2008 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall,Vice <br /> President Stonecipher presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson and Council Members Roberts,Olson,Natio,Gipson, <br /> Stonecipher and Affhoker were present. Council Member Nielsen was <br /> excused. <br /> Council Member Hahne led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the July 2,2008 Everett City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed. Council Members Hatloe and Gipson abstained <br /> from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> Mayor Stephenson proclaimed the month of July as 'arks and <br /> Recreation Month°in the City of Everett and invited all to participate in our <br /> recreational programs and to enjoy the beauty that our parks offer. <br /> Mary Jane Anderson, Chair of the Parks Board, accepted the <br /> proclamation and said thank you on behalf of the Parks Board. <br /> JULY 4'e CELEBRATION <br /> Mayor Stephenson commented that the Fourth of July celebration was the <br /> best held in years and that there have been many pospdve comments from <br /> citizens reparding the parade,fireworks and vatH.,::scheduled events. <br /> He recogn¢ed the following city employees for their work during the <br /> celebration events:Bill Bailey,Larry Cram,Howard Hansen,Barry Martin, <br /> Dan Staple, Steffani Lillie, Skip Algard, Brad Olson, the Police <br /> Department,Carol Thomas,Laura Baird,Mary Cutler,Karen Shaw and <br /> Lane McMullin. <br /> 207 <br />
