August 6,2008 <br /> Loren Sand to Alternate Position No.1 for the remainder of a six year <br /> term ending December 31,2013. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes except Council <br /> MemberRoberts who was excused. <br /> Motion carded. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Council Member Olson questioned n there would be a staff report prior to <br /> the Providence Medical Center presentation decision on the 20 and <br /> stated that since R is such en important issue it would be useful to have a <br /> staff report and an opportunity for questions in advance of the decision to <br /> be made on the 20.. President Nielsen stated this would be taken into <br /> consideration. <br /> Council Member Hadoe stated that he had the pleasure this moming of <br /> sharing breakfast with former city council member,Doug Campbell,who is <br /> visiting the Everett area. <br /> REPORT—REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER REGULATIONS <br /> President Nielsen stated that the city council has requested that staff <br /> provide an update on registered sex offender regulations.The purpose is <br /> to share information about what actions are potentially available to cities <br /> consistent with state and federal law to reduce the adverse Impact on <br /> neighborhoods and neighbors of the housing of registered sex offenders. <br /> Following the staff presentation there will be time for public comments, <br /> and questions from city council members.He indicated that several staff <br /> members from the Department or Corrections are in attendance and <br /> available for questions. <br /> Jim Iles,City Attorney,introduced David Hall,Deputy City Attorney.to <br /> make a staff presentation regarding this matter.Katie Rathbun and Laura <br /> Van Slyck,legal staff,will also be available for any questions. <br /> 248 <br />
