September 24,2008 <br /> A meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 a.m., <br /> September 24,2008 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Nielsen presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson and Council Members Roberts,Olson.Haeoe,Gipson. <br /> Nielsen,and Stonecipher were present. Council Member Affholter was <br /> excused. <br /> Council Member Gipson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the September 17,2008 Everett CIV Council meeting <br /> were approved as pouted.Council Member Roberts abstained from the <br /> vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> REVENUE UPDATE <br /> Debra Bryant,Chief Financial Officer,gave a revenue and budget update. <br /> She talked about the revenue trends of property,sales,880,and utility <br /> taxes. She explained the 2009 budget balancing and displayed a <br /> strategic budget model for 2009—2013.The 2009 budget hearings are <br /> scheduled to begin October 29.2008 with adoption of the budget <br /> ordinance scheduled for December 10,2008. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Council Member Gipson requested that the Budget Committee prioritize <br /> future projects. Council Member Have explained that the Budget <br /> Committee has done that and would share that information. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> Jim Iles,City Attorney,introduced Tim Benedict who will be joining the <br /> city's legal staff as an assistant city attorney. <br /> 319 <br />
