October 22,2008 <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> David Green,1410 Oakes;Robert Carpenter,1419 Oakes;and Garrlk <br /> Hudson-Falcon,1418 Lombard,spoke regarding en incident on October <br /> • <br /> 4,2908 in which the City sewer backed up and flooded their homes.They <br /> questioned what caused the flooding and requested assurances that it <br /> wouldn't reoccur. <br /> Tom Thetford,Utilities,stated that they have been unable to detect the <br /> cause of the backup.He suggested that homeowners install a back water <br /> valve to help prevent flooding in the future. <br /> Bob Wohl,1325 Lombard,spoke regarding traffic congestion in the <br /> neighborhood resulting from hospital construction. He suggested en <br /> alternative route for large trucks and trailers. <br /> Darrell Gonzales,22067'"Street,questioned why Waverly was blocked <br /> with a barrier. <br /> Dongho Chang,Traffic Engineer,explained that the City met with the <br /> neighborhood and Everett Community College last year related to a <br /> proposed parking garage on Waverly. The neighborhood requested a <br /> change in the configuration of the garage so that it was located further <br /> from residential homes.ECC accommodated their request but it required <br /> that Waverly be vacated. <br /> CONSENT ITEMS: <br /> Moved by C ncil Member Gipson,seconded by Council Member <br /> Affholter to ppre'va the following consent items: <br /> RESOLUTION—CLAIMS <br /> To adopt Resolution No.6069 acknowledging the payment of audited <br /> and approved claims against the City of Everett in the amount of <br /> $1,179,105.15 for the period of October 4,2008 through October 10, <br /> 2008. <br /> 34'1 <br />
