October 22,2008 <br /> School District purposing an amen_ment to the proposed ordinance which <br /> has been distributed to the council members. <br /> Jim Hanson,Planning,gave a brief slide presentation and discussed <br /> various aspects of the code. He related that the Planning Commission <br /> recommends adoption of the proposed ordinance.He stated that the City <br /> had received a letter from the Everett School District expressing concems <br /> regarding their property at the south end of the corridor.They are in the <br /> process of designing a new administrative center in that area and felt that <br /> the height restriction of 35 feet would be too smiting. They were also <br /> concerned regarding same of the bonus features being duplicative on the <br /> siteCity staff agrees with the school district and recommends that there <br /> be a minor change allowing a maximum height of 65 feet in that area(38W <br /> Street to 41.Street)for all buildings. <br /> Considerable discussion ensued. <br /> Council Member Olson left the council chambers. <br /> Council President Nielsen invited pubic comment <br /> Victor Harris,3017 Lombard,and Nick Eckert,2907 Victor Place,spoke in <br /> support of the proposed ordinance. <br /> Moved by Council Member Gipson,seconded by Council Member <br /> Hatloe to close the public hearing. <br /> Roll wascalled with all council members voting yes except Council <br /> Member lson who was excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> 351 <br />
