December 17,2008 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council won called to order at 890 <br /> p.m.,December 17.2008 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall,President Nielsen presiding.Upon roll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson; Council Members Roberts, Olson, Gipson, Nelsen, <br /> Stonecipher and Affholter were present. Council Member Hafloe was <br /> excused. <br /> Council Member Olson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the December 10,2008 City Coundl meeting w <br /> approved as printed.Council Member Affholter abstained from the vote. <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> Ganik Hudson Falcon,1418 Lombard,expressed concern regarding the <br /> Citys response to the sewer flooding incident in north Everett on October <br /> 4,2008.He commented on the length of time it has taken to process the <br /> claims and the limited amount of reimbursement offered.He also stated <br /> that his basement hes flooded two more times since October 4 due to <br /> broken sewer lines in front of his home. <br /> Council Member Olson questioned whether ft was time for the City to <br /> consider appointing an ombudsman for the purpose of setting up a claim <br /> program and administering these claims as quickly as possible. <br /> Council President Nielsen stated that this is the first ems he has heard <br /> about the new flooding incidents.He requested a report by next week's <br /> council meeting. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher requested a report regarding whether there <br /> was a way to forward the reimbursement for actual out of pocket <br /> expenses and then be repaid through a lien on the properly or some other <br /> device. <br /> 423 <br />
