December 22,2006 <br /> AMENDMENT—2006 CMG/CASCADE CLUB <br /> Moved by Council Member Stonecipher,seconded by Council <br /> Member Gipson to authorize the Mayor to sign an amendment to the <br /> 2006 Community Development Block Grant Agreement with the Boys <br /> and Gids Club for the Cascade Club. <br /> Greg Lineberry,Vice President,Snohomish County Boys and Gids Club, <br /> expressed appreciation for the support the Coy of Everett has provided in <br /> the past for the clubs in Everett.He stated that the grants currently under <br /> consideration will improve the area behind the Cascade Club end blend it <br /> with the improvement of Lions Park,replace the roof at the Cascade Club, <br /> purchase and install new basketball scoreboards at the Cascade Club and <br /> the North Everett Club,purchase and Install a new baseball scoreboard at <br /> the North Everett Club,and add storage for the daycare and sen center <br /> at North Everett. <br /> Council Member Gipson questioned whether the federal dollars being <br /> allocated would require them to adhere to affirmative action programs in <br /> the procurement and going out to bid for the project. <br /> Ross Johnson,Planning.sated that it has to go through federal bidding <br /> and procurement processes which include affirmative action language in <br /> the contracts. <br /> Council Member Gipson requested that staff provide a report after those <br /> processes are complete to see whether requirements were adhered to <br /> and how successful they were. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes except Council <br /> Member Olson who was excused. <br /> Mogen carded. <br /> 439 <br />
