March 11,2009 <br /> CONSENT ITEMS: <br /> Moved by Council Member Gipson,seconded by Council Member <br /> Nielsen to approve the following consent item: <br /> RESOLUTION-CLAIMS <br /> To adopt Resolution No.8121 acknowledging the payment of audited <br /> and approved claims against the city of Everett In the amount of <br /> $3,496,909.54 for the period February 21,2009 through February 27, <br /> 2009. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> LABOR AGREEMENT—ATU <br /> Moved by Council Member Nielsen,seconded by Council Member <br /> Roberts to authorize the Mayor to sign the labor agreement between <br /> the City of Everett and Amalgamated Transit Union Division Number <br /> 883,ATU,for the term 2009-2011. <br /> Council Member Olson asked to clarify that the 5.8%increase in salaries <br /> was consistent with Increases given to other bargaining units.He pointed <br /> out that in light of today's CPI rate,which the citys cost of living increases <br /> are based,the rete may seem high to some observers. <br /> Sharon DeHaan,Human Resources,responded that the rete is consistent <br /> with what the other bargaining units received. She noted that the city <br /> uses the June to June CPI and that the Uty and the ATU had started <br /> negotiations in 2008. <br /> Roll was called with all councu:.,embers voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> 63 <br />
