April 15.2009 <br /> Council Member Olson noted that this amendment Includes a$25,000.00 <br /> re-appropriation for web streaming council proceedings. He asked that <br /> the Information Technology Department provide a presentation in the next <br /> couple of weeks regarding the status of the project. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher reiterated that the majority of this budget <br /> amendment is for commitments authorized in the prior year.She further <br /> explained that because our budget cycle ends on a finite date and <br /> contract terms dont always correspond to that date,it is necessary to re- <br /> appropriate funding to complete work that spans from one year to the <br /> next.She pointed out that this is a process that occurs every year. <br /> Mayor Stephenson clarified that the 2009 general fund budget presented <br /> at the budget address was about 1%less than in 2008.He stated that it <br /> is important to note that because of the actions taken last year and the 42 <br /> es that we currently have,we are able to move$4 million that was <br /> unspent in 2008 forward to 2009.
