May 6,2009 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 <br /> p.m.,May 6,2009.In the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hell, <br /> President Hallos presiding. Upon roll cell It was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson and Council Members Roberts,Olson,Hatloe,Gipson, <br /> Nielsen,Stonecipher and Aflholter were present. <br /> Council Member Roberts led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the April 29,2009 City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> Mayor Stephenson proclaimed May,2009 as"Older Americans Month." <br /> He presented the proclamation to George Brown,en active member of the <br /> Everett Senior Center. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> SNOHOMISH COUNTY TOURISM BUREAU UPDATE <br /> Mary Jane Anderson,Manager,Everett Tourism and Visitor Services, <br /> gave an update on the Everett Tourism Program. She discussed the <br /> various aspects of tourism development and visitor services. <br /> Amy Spans,Snohomish County Tourism Bureau,gave a brief overview of <br /> the economic Impacts of tourism on Snohomish County. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Roberts thanked the Mayor and staff for their hard work <br /> regarding development of the capital budget requests this year. He <br /> remarked that the State of Washington Governors Office and the Building <br /> 116 <br />
