July 29,2009 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 0130 <br /> p.m.,July 29,2009,In the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Hadoe presiding. Upon roll call It was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson and Council Members Roberts,Olson,Hatioe,Gipson, <br /> Nielsen,Stonecipher and Affhdler were present. <br /> The minutes of the July 22,2009 Everett City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed. <br /> Council Member Roberts led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephenson stated that the City has several temporary cooling <br /> centers across the city including the Senior Center,the Library,the South <br /> Police Precinct,Everett Station,and in the private sector,the Everett Mall. <br /> He also announced that he received a phone cell from Senator Murray <br /> who has recommended to Congress that the City receive$3.2 million of <br /> the$3.3 million requested for the replacement of the Broadway Bridge. <br /> COUNCIL COMMFNTS <br /> Council Member Stonecipher noted that on June 10.Council tabled <br /> Council Bill 0905-12, which concerned residential rental property <br /> inspections,for 90-days. She mentioned that she has received several <br /> phone calls and emails from citizens who support bringing the residential <br /> rental properties up to standard but there have also been many questions <br /> as to why our existing fire and code compliance processes can't handle <br /> this matter.She requested Administration provide a report on the fire and <br /> code compliance inspection processes at the next convenient council <br /> meeting. <br /> Debra Bryant,Administration stated she would have staff prepare a <br /> report. <br /> 215 <br />
