January 6,2010 • <br /> Puget Pass agreement between the city of Everett arid Community <br /> Transit,King County Metro,Pierce Transit and Sound Transit, <br /> Roll was called with,all council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> • <br /> DISCUSSION—NORTH EVERETT/SINGLE FAMILY ZONE DESIGN <br /> STANDARDS <br /> Allan Geen,Planning,gave background regarding what the Planning <br /> Commission had done with regard to formulating single family zone <br /> design standards. Council members had originated the request <br /> However,the Planning Commission was not able to come to agreement <br /> regarding the standards and that is why it has come before the city <br /> council He reviewed the standards that had been proposed to the <br /> Planning Commission,and how some other cities regulate design of <br /> single family dwellings. • <br /> Discussion ensued and Council members agreed that properties should <br /> be protected,but across the board design standards may not be the <br /> answer.They did express that anomalies should be addressed and the <br /> need for a mechanism for those wishing to initiate design standards in <br /> their neighborhoods. <br /> • , <br /> Jeffrey McClimans,Everett,voiced that a standard overlay for all homes <br /> does not work.He suggested that the onus be put on the neighborhoods <br /> and that the Planning Department could set a framework for that. <br /> Allan summarized that staff would do some more research on this issue. <br />.• <br /> 6 <br /> • <br />
