January 13.2010 <br /> Council Member Gipson thanked all who supported the senior center <br /> renaming ceremony. <br /> Council Member Gipson also addressed the issue <br /> u <br /> of council meeting <br /> times and brought forth that the city charter regulates the meeting <br /> schedule and that the charter review committee is an appropriate avenue <br /> for addressing this issue. <br /> Council Member Roberts extended regrets that he was not able to attend <br /> the Cad Gipson Senior Center renaming celebration. <br /> He stated that he may have to leave todays meeting early due to a prior <br /> commitment. <br /> ATTORNEY <br /> City Attorney Jim Iles requested an executive session at the end of the <br /> meeting to address three matters:a ligation matter,one potential <br /> litigation matter.and a real estate matter involving the sale of city <br /> property. The session should last approximately forty minutes with no <br /> announcement anticipated. <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> Robert Wohl,John Lindstrom and Valerie Steel spoke in favor of night <br /> council meetings. <br /> Anthony Marson,owner of The Club Casino,requested the city council to <br /> take a look at the gambling tax rate as it is too high.He handed out a <br /> proposal for the city council members'consideration. <br /> Council Member Gipson requested an update/review regarding the city's <br /> taxes.Council Member Moore requested that comparables be included. <br /> Sally Stapp had questions regarding council members'salaries. <br />
