May 12,2010 • <br /> WORKSHOP—CAPITAL PROJECTS REVIEW • <br /> • <br /> Debra Bryant,CAA and Chief Financial Officer,gave a slide presentation <br /> and handed out additional detailed information on the city's capital • <br /> projects to council members. She discussed the Utilities and Transit <br /> capital plans,the General Govemment capital projects,funding sources <br /> and recommended projects.She noted that department heads and city <br /> staff were available to answer questions. <br /> Council Members asked several questions arid had several comments <br /> regarding the presentation. Council Member Stonecipher requested a <br /> copy of the wish list projects which were not included In the binders. <br /> Mayor Stephenson discussed his current three top priories;building Fire <br /> Stance No.3,upgrading the fire administration building,and replacing the <br /> traffic signal controller system. <br /> Council Member Gipson stated that he will not bring forward the resolution <br /> he mentioned at lest week's meeting as his questions have been <br /> answered. He noted that it is now Council's job, along with <br /> Administration,to determine future project priorities. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher mentioned that she would like a future <br /> discussion regarding how the city can use debt to finance capital projects <br /> and the city's optimal debt level. <br /> LODGING TAX RECOMMENDATIONS <br />• <br /> Moved by Council Member Stonecipher,seconded by Council <br /> Member Aiiholtsr to adopt the recommendations of the Lodging Tax <br /> Advisory Committee concurred by the Budget Committee regarding <br /> the allocation of current lodging tax*:•ranues as designated: <br /> Abate of Washington,Sky Valley Chapter $ 5,000.00 <br /> Colors of Freedom 10,000.00 <br /> Sorticulture 20,000.00 <br /> Imagine Children's Museum 8,000.00 <br /> 133 <br />
