The topic was electric <br /> vehicles including a discussion on the"smart grid"He reviewed some of • <br /> the issues facing local governments including the local permitting process, <br /> converting public parking spaces to charging stations,reduction In gas tax <br /> and the development of model ordinances. He requested that <br /> Administration keep the city council informed as model ordinances are <br /> developed. <br /> Council President Roberts thanked the Mayor for his work with Boeing <br /> end the tanker issue and also in working with Secretary Mavis and the <br /> Navy in working to make our base the most environmentally and energy <br /> efficient base in the nation's inventory. <br /> President Roberts also noted that next week's council packet will include a <br /> request from Jackson High School to allow fireworks at their homecoming <br /> event on October 80. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> City Attorney Iles had no comment <br /> CITI7EN COMMENTS <br /> Aileen Langhans,Everett,expressed her frustration with the Planning <br /> Department's handling of recent condominium projects near her property <br /> end the related year-long appeal process she went through. <br /> J.T.Dray,Everett,discussed some of Everett Transit's service changes <br /> over the past year,the communication of these changes with the public, <br /> and Transit holding two driver focus groups but no rider focus groups to <br /> review transit service. <br /> Debra Bryant,Administration stated that Everett Transit is currently <br /> holding public forums to gather public input which will be used to generate <br /> proposed changes.President Roberts!squealed a report after the forums <br /> are complete. <br /> 272 <br />
