• <br /> October 27,2010 <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Ray Stephenson <br /> Mayor <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Haw asked the Mayor what the city is doing to <br /> encourage economic development. <br /> Mayor Stephenson responded with several examples,including providing <br /> support for the Boeing tanker bid,working to bring higher education to <br /> Everett,providing a B&O Tax Credit to encourage employers to increase <br /> their workforce in Everett,and a number of other initiatives. <br /> Council Member Gipson inquired about how the city will address the loss <br /> of state shared revenue should Initiative 1100 or 1105 pass. He also <br /> asked if the city has considered increasing home monitoring to reduce our <br /> jail costs. <br /> Debra Bryant,Administration,stated that there is currently a coordinated <br /> effort going on between the municipal noun,the police department and <br />• the prosecutors once to reduce costs and that we have already started to <br /> see a reduction in jail fees over the past six months. <br /> Mayor Stephenson discussed the possible revenue impact if Initiative <br /> 1100 or 1105 passes. <br /> Council Member Moore requested an update on the 2012 budget outlook. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> City Attorney Iles had no comment. <br /> 299 <br />
