November 17,2010 <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING—COUNCIL BILL NO.1009-25 <br /> Council President Roberts opened a public hearing regarding Council Bill <br /> No.1009-25.a proposed ordinance amending the Zoning Code related to <br /> Secondhand Stores,emending Ordinance No.1511-59. <br /> Allan Gillen,Planning,gave a brief overview of the proposed code <br /> amendment.He stated that the Planning Commission's recommendation <br /> was to open up six blocks on Hewitt to secondhand stores.Following the <br /> Planning Commission's recommendation, staff received additional <br /> comments and correspondence from businesses and property owners <br /> who were asking that the area be broadened. He stated Mat after <br /> conferring with Administration staff, they are mending that <br /> secondhand stares be albwed on the ground floor of retail streets which <br /> include two blocks on Rucker,two blocks on Wetmore,and doses the gap <br /> on Hewitt Avenue recommended by the Planning Commission. <br /> President Roberts invited public comment <br /> Jim Staniford,Everett,and Pete Sikov spoke in support of the proposed <br /> code amendment. <br /> Moved by Council Member Stonecipher,seconded by Council <br /> Member Gipson to close the public hearing. <br /> Roll was celled with all council members voting yes. • <br /> Motion carded. <br /> • <br /> 328 <br />
