December 22,2010 <br /> Reappointment of Shawn Smith to Position No. 4, <br /> Transportation Advisory Committee, for a six-year term <br /> beginning January 1,2011 and ending December 31,2016 <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> Mayor Stephenson announced that Police Chief Scharf will be retiring in <br /> March.2011.He thanked the Chief for his service end contributions over <br /> the past fifteen years. <br /> Mayor Stephenson announced that he has selected Deputy Chief Kathy <br /> Atwood to fulfill the role of the new police chief of the city of Everett.This <br /> will become effective upon Chief Scherfs retirement. Deputy Chief <br /> Atwood's experience.education and management style make her the <br /> ideal candidate. <br /> Chief Scharf expressed that he has enjoyed being part of a great team in <br /> Everett.The support has been outstanding. <br /> Deputy Chief Atwood stated that she is proud and honored to follow in the <br /> footsteps of Chief Scharf and that she will do it with passion and integrity. <br /> She further announced that Dan Templeman will take her place as Deputy <br /> Chief. <br /> Mayor Stephenson acknowledged that former City Council Members <br /> Overstreet and Rucker were in attendance today. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> The council members each thanked Chief Scharf for his service to the city <br /> and congratulated Deputy Chief Atwood on her new assignment. <br /> 366 <br />
