May 11,2011 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 <br /> p.m.,May 11,2011 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> Council President Affhoiter presiding. Upon roll call it was found that <br /> Mayor Stephanson and Council Members Roberts,Hasoe,Gipson, <br /> Nielsen,Stonecipher,and Affholter were present.Council Member Moore <br /> was excused. <br /> Council Member Roberts led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the May 4,2011 City Council mceting were approved as <br /> printed.Council Member Hatice abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephenson stated that he attended the Brown Awards last <br /> Saturday where they recognized Ed and Betty Morrow with an award that <br /> will become an annual award.He remarked that tomorrow aftemoon the <br /> governor is scheduled to sign the Higher Education Bill for Washington <br /> State assuming leadership at University Center in three years. <br /> CM Debra Bryant announced that the 2012 budget instruction packets <br /> will be going out to the departments next week. She stated that <br /> department staff will be advised that the 2012 budget development <br /> process will begin with an approximate$10 million gap in revenues to the <br /> city's projected expenses. <br /> CIN ATTORNEY <br /> City Attorney Iles had no comment. <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> Geoffrey Crofoot,Everett,spoke regarding the nems for the Everett Police <br /> Department to review their priorities related to crime response. <br /> 133 <br />
