June 1,2011 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> p.m.,June 1,2011 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> Council President Affholter presiding. Upon roll call k was found that <br /> Mayor Stephenson, Council Members Roberts, Moore, Nielsen, <br /> Stonecipher and Atfholter were present. Council Members Hallos and <br /> Gipson were excused. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the May 25,2011 Everett City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed. Council President Atfhoiter abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephenson recognized the accomplishments of Ms.testis Clark <br /> end Ms.Jill Mayer,who will join other Special Olympics Washington <br /> athletes as part of Team Washington in Greece to compete in the Special <br /> Olympics World Games later this month. Ms.Clark and Ms.Mayer <br /> received certificates from the Mayor,and applause from the council <br /> mmbers end audience. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Council Member Stonecipher remarked that she attended the Seattle <br /> International Film Festival gala opening night event,and that it was a coup <br /> for the Cultural Arts Department to attract the event to Everett. She <br /> encouraged everyone to attend the remaining shows. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> Deputy City Attomey David Hall had no coinmont. <br /> 153 <br />
