AN ORDINANCE FIXING AND DETERMINING THE NUMBER OF THE VARIOUS OFFICERS, ASSISTANTS, DEPUTIES AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF EVERETT; PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF SUCH OFFICERS, ASSISTANTS, DEPUTIES AND EMPLOYEES; FIXING THEIR SALARIES; PROVIDING FOR MEDICAL SERVICES; REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 3857 OF THE CITY OF EVERETT; REPEALING CHAPTER 1.16 and CHAPTER 1.24, CITY CODE OF EVERETT; AND DECLARING THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT ON JANUARY 1, 1963, AND ESTABLISHING CODE NUMBERS. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: SECTION 1: That beginning January 1, 1963, and on and after said date, the various officers, assistants, deputies and employees of the City of Everett, in addition to those provided for in the Charter of the City of Everett, shall be as in this ordinance provided. (Chapter 1.16.010) SECTION 2: CITY ATTORNEY DEPARTMENT There shall be in the office of the City Attorney a Special City Attorney, a stenog• apher, relief stenographer and Relief Attorney ( all part time ) . Said Special City Attorney, Stenographer, Relief Steno- grapher and Relief Attorney shall perform such duties as the City ° Attorney may authorize and direct. (Chapter 1.16.020) SECTION 3: CITY HALL DEPARTMENT There shall be in the City Hall Department two janitors and a Relief Janitor, Day Laborer. Said Janitors shall perform the janitor work in connection with the City Hall. The Mayor shall be the head of the Department. (1.16.030) SECTION 4: LIBRARY DEPARTMENT There shall be in the Library Department the following named officers, assistants and employees, to-wit: One Director; one Catalog Librarian; One Reference Librarian; One Reference Librarian Assistant; One Childrents Librarian; one Circulation Librarian; One Fine Arts and Branch Librarian; One Library Assistant, Juvenile; one Bookkeeper; One Secretary; one Periodicals Clerk; One Circulation Clerk; One Clerk, Processing; One Clerk; One Janitor; one Bookmender, PT; Two Clerks, PT; Feur Librarians, PT; Five Pages, PT; One Janitress, PT. The Director shall be in general charge and shall have supervision of the Library Department. The other officers, assistants and employees shall perform such duties as pertain to the nature of their office and as authorized and directed by the Director (1.16.040) SECTION 5: CIVIL SERVICE DEPARTMENT There shall be in the Civil Service Department the following named officers, to-wit: Secretary- Part time The Secretary shall perform such duties as the Civil Service Commission shall authorize and direct.
