• <br /> 1/4 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 91Z . <br /> AN ORDINANCE FIXING AND DETERMINING THE NUMBER OF THE <br /> VARIOUS OFFICERS, ASSISTANTS, DEPUTIES AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY <br /> OF EVERETT; PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF SUCH OFFICERS, ASSISTANTS, <br /> DEPUTIES AND EMPLOYEES; FIXING THEIR SALARIES; PROVIDING FOR <br /> MEDICAL SERVICES; REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 3857 OF THE CITY OF <br /> EVERETT; REPEALING CHAPTER 1.16 and CHAPTER 1.24, CITY CODE OF <br /> EVERETT; AND DECLARING THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT ON <br /> JANUARY 1, 1963, AND ESTABLISHING CODE NUMBERS. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> SECTION 1: That beginning January 1, 1963, and on and <br /> after said date, the various officers, assistants, deputies and <br /> employees of the City of Everett, in addition to those provided <br /> for in the Charter of the City of Everett, shall be as in this <br /> ordinance provided. (Chapter 1.16.010) <br /> SECTION 2: CITY ATTORNEY DEPARTMENT <br /> There shall be in the office of the City Attorney a <br /> Special City Attorney, a stenog• apher, relief stenographer and <br /> Relief Attorney ( all part time ) . <br /> Said Special City Attorney, Stenographer, Relief Steno- <br /> grapher and Relief Attorney shall perform such duties as the City <br /> ° Attorney may authorize and direct. (Chapter 1.16.020) <br /> SECTION 3: CITY HALL DEPARTMENT <br /> There shall be in the City Hall Department two janitors <br /> and a Relief Janitor, Day Laborer. Said Janitors shall perform <br /> the janitor work in connection with the City Hall. The Mayor <br /> shall be the head of the Department. (1.16.030) <br /> SECTION 4: LIBRARY DEPARTMENT <br /> There shall be in the Library Department the following <br /> named officers, assistants and employees, to-wit: <br /> One Director; one Catalog Librarian; One Reference <br /> Librarian; One Reference Librarian Assistant; One Childrents <br /> Librarian; one Circulation Librarian; One Fine Arts and Branch <br /> Librarian; One Library Assistant, Juvenile; one Bookkeeper; One <br /> Secretary; one Periodicals Clerk; One Circulation Clerk; One <br /> Clerk, Processing; One Clerk; One Janitor; one Bookmender, PT; <br /> Two Clerks, PT; Feur Librarians, PT; Five Pages, PT; One Janitress, <br /> PT. <br /> The Director shall be in general charge and shall have <br /> supervision of the Library Department. The other officers, <br /> assistants and employees shall perform such duties as pertain <br /> to the nature of their office and as authorized and directed by <br /> the Director (1.16.040) <br /> SECTION 5: CIVIL SERVICE DEPARTMENT <br /> There shall be in the Civil Service Department the <br /> following named officers, to-wit: Secretary- Part time <br /> The Secretary shall perform such duties as the Civil <br /> Service Commission shall authorize and direct. (1.16.050) <br />
