• ORDINANCE NO. 3909. AN ORDINANCE declaring an emergency to exist and alloc at- ing 6,000.00 from the General Current Expense Fund to the Pound Department, creating certain positions and fixing salaries thereof. WHEREAS, the Snohomish County Humane Society has, for many years, been operating the City Pound of the City of Everett and enforcing the ordinances of the City of Everett dealing with animals, and AREAS, the Snohomish County Humane Society has notified the City of Everett that it is about to terminate its relation- ships with the City of Everett and will no longer continue to operate the City Pound, and WHEREAS, it is necessary that an emergency appropriation be made; that positions be determined and salaries fixed and o her expenditures provided for, and WHEREAS, such emergency could not have reasonably been foreseen at the time of the making of the budget for the year 1962. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That an emergency is hereby declared to exist and that the sum of $6,000.00 is hereby allocated from the General Current Expense Fund of the City of Everett to the Pound Depart- ment, to be expended as follows: Salaries and Wages $1b57.20 Animal Feed S 300.00 Retirement, .Social Security, Medical Aid $ 425,00 veterinary Services S 150.00 Miscellaneous s 177,80 Heat, Light and Water S 315.00 Laundry s 75.00 Section 2: That the sums hereby appropriated shall be paid by the issuance of warrants drawn on such: funds by the proper officers of the City of Everett as provided by law, and charged to the Pound Department. Section 3: That the following positions and salaries are hereby fixed in the Pound Department for the balance of the year 1962.
