• <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3909. <br />AN ORDINANCE declaring an emergency to exist and alloc at- <br />ing 6,000.00 from the General Current Expense Fund to the Pound <br />Department, creating certain positions and fixing salaries thereof. <br />WHEREAS, the Snohomish County Humane Society has, for <br />many years, been operating the City Pound of the City of Everett <br />and enforcing the ordinances of the City of Everett dealing with <br />animals, and <br />AREAS, the Snohomish County Humane Society has notified <br />the City of Everett that it is about to terminate its relation- <br />ships with the City of Everett and will no longer continue to <br />operate the City Pound, and <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary that an emergency appropriation <br />be made; that positions be determined and salaries fixed and <br />o her expenditures provided for, and <br />WHEREAS, such emergency could not have reasonably been <br />foreseen at the time of the making of the budget for the year 1962. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br />Section 1: That an emergency is hereby declared to exist <br />and that the sum of $6,000.00 is hereby allocated from the General <br />Current Expense Fund of the City of Everett to the Pound Depart- <br />ment, to be expended as follows: <br />Salaries and Wages $1b57.20 <br />Animal Feed S 300.00 <br />Retirement, .Social Security, Medical Aid $ 425,00 <br />veterinary Services S 150.00 <br />Miscellaneous s 177,80 <br />Heat, Light and Water S 315.00 <br />Laundry s 75.00 <br />Section 2: That the sums hereby appropriated shall be <br />paid by the issuance of warrants drawn on such: funds by the proper <br />officers of the City of Everett as provided by law, and charged <br />to the Pound Department. <br />Section 3: That the following positions and salaries <br />are hereby fixed in the Pound Department for the balance of the <br />year 1962. <br />Atter: <br />One Pound Master not over $440.00 per month <br />Two Day Laborers <br />City clerk <br />Passed: Sept. 4, 1962 <br />published: Sept 5, I <br />$16.65 per day <br />MAYOR <br />• <br />• <br />
