The amount available for our region is $102,000; the break down per project is: Impaired Driving Patrols $60,000 Distracted Driving Patrols $27,000 Motorcycle Safety $15,000 Project summary statement: The Police Department has been approved to request funding, via the Target Zero HVE Grant FFY2021 through the Washington Traffic Safety Commission. The grant allows the Everett Police Department to request overtime reimbursement for specific Target Zero Projects. The projects High Visibility Enforcements (HVE) include Impaired Driving Enforcement, Distracted Driving Enforcement and Motorcycle Safety Patrols. The Grant program period is October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2021. Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Major to sign all necessary documents and agreements with the Washington Traffic Safety Commission, regarding the acceptance and utilization of the FFY 2021 Target Zero HVE Grant Program.
