"Clinic" means a building or portion of a building designed and used for the medical,dental or surgical diagnosis or
<br /> treatment of patients under the care of doctors.
<br /> "Commercial parking" means a parking lot or parking garage that is designed, used or intended to be used for the
<br /> parking of motor vehicles outside the street right-of-way.Commercial parking areas are used,rented or leased to
<br /> the general public,customers or residents of development,or are provided as public parking for persons
<br /> commuting to another location,such as a park-and-ride lot.This use does not include parking lots or garages which
<br /> are constructed as required for, or accessory to,another permitted use.
<br /> "Community services" means a use operated by a public agency, nonprofit, or other organizations of a charitable
<br /> nature generally providing a service to people of the community.Generally,they provide the service on the site or
<br /> have employees at the site on a regular basis.The service is ongoing,not just for special events. Examples include
<br /> drug and alcohol centers,social service facilities,soup kitchens,food banks,and surplus food distribution centers.
<br /> "Convention center"means a large civic building or group of buildings designed for conventions,industrial shows,
<br /> and the like, having large exhibit areas and often including conference rooms, hotel accommodations,restaurants,
<br /> and other facilities.
<br /> "Day care center,commercial" means a day care facility for more than twelve children or adults.
<br /> "Entertainment and recreation,enclosed"means an entertainment or recreation facility under private ownership
<br /> and operated by a for-profit or nonprofit organization,and providing one or more of the following types of
<br /> entertainment activities:cinemas,billiard parlors, nightclubs,coin-operated arcades,bowling alleys,ice skating
<br /> and roller skating;one or more of the following types of recreation facilities:fitness center,indoor gymnasium,spa
<br /> or health club including,tennis, handball,golf,squash,volleyball, racquetball, badminton,skate park and
<br /> swimming.The use does not include adult use business,adult retail or adult entertainment as defined in this title.
<br /> "Entertainment and recreation,not enclosed" means an entertainment or recreation facility under private
<br /> ownership and operated by a for-profit or nonprofit organization and providing one or more of the following types
<br /> of entertainment activities: ice skating;skate park and swimming;or commercial outdoor recreation, including golf
<br /> courses,archery range,or similar use.
<br /> "Equipment sales and rental"means service industry providing machinery,equipment and tools of all kinds and
<br /> sizes(from earthmoving to powered access,from power generation to hand-held tools,etc.)for a limited period of
<br /> time to final users, mainly to construction contractors but also to industry and individual consumers.
<br /> "Food or beverage establishment"means restaurants,cafes,and similar types of land uses that prepare and serve
<br /> edible goods for consumption by the customer including beverage service.
<br /> "Heavy truck and equipment sales"means a business where new or used trucks over 18,000 pounds are displayed
<br /> for sale,typically outdoors on a paved parking lot.This use may include a showroom and/or service facility.
<br /> "Hotel"or"Motel"means a transient accommodation offering three or more lodging units to guests for periods of
<br /> less than thirty days,and may also provide incidental services such as restaurants, meeting rooms or recreational
<br /> facilities.Also,see"Bed and Breakfast Inns".
<br /> "Impound,storage,tow yard"means a lot used for the temporary storage of vehicles which have been towed by a
<br /> towing company or for impounded vehicles,but which does not include permanent vehicle storage or dismantling
<br /> of vehicles.
<br /> "Kennel,commercial"means an establishment that houses,cares for,breeds,or raises dogs,cats or other small
<br /> domestic animals for profit.
<br /> "Microbrewery,microdistillery,ormicrowinery"means a small-scale business located in a building where the
<br /> primary use is for restaurant,retail,or tasting room,and which specializes in producing limited quantities of wine,
<br /> beer,or other alcoholic beverage.
