• <br /> November 10, 2020 <br /> Mr. Smith, BDS, stated he is unaware of any other agency in Washington that is <br /> handling billing. <br /> Susy Haugen, Finance, stated she would get back to Council regarding the time <br /> City staff are spending on the billing and collection function. <br /> Council Member Bader asked for additional information regarding the addition of <br /> a block on Colby between 26th and 25tn <br /> Council members expressed support for the extension of the public-private <br /> partnership. <br /> Department of Justice Grant for Body Worn Cameras Briefing <br /> Presented by Police Chief Dan Templeman <br /> Council members thanked Chief Templeman and the Police Department for their <br /> successful efforts to obtain this grant, as well as other recent grant awards. <br /> • <br /> Council Member Stonecipher asked if the money allocated would provide <br /> adequate resources to equip all police staff with body-worn cameras. <br /> Chief Templeman stated that 150 cameras would be provided to every officer <br /> assigned to operations, as well as others that are in uniform. <br /> Council Member Bader asked if information was available from other cities that <br /> shows a reduction in liability expenses. <br /> Chief Templeman stated that various studies have been done that show a <br /> reduction in use of force and citizen complaints. <br /> Council Member Roberts asked if the use of body-worn cameras would result in a <br /> reduction in the costs associated with public records requests. <br /> Chief Templeman stated it is currently an unknown. <br /> • <br /> 366 <br />
