EVERETT <br /> WASHINGTON <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 3785-20 <br /> An ORDINANCE Relating to Employee Compensation and Fringe Benefits,AMENDING Ordinance No. <br /> 1594-89,as amended,and AMENDING Ordinance No. 2879-05, as amended (Chapter 2.74 EMC) <br /> WHEREAS, <br /> A. Certain provisions of prior ordinances related to employee compensation and fringe benefits have <br /> become outdated or require clarifications. <br /> B. The purpose of this ordinance is to make clarifications and updates regarding workdays,insurance <br /> plans,floating holidays,vacation accrual and other matters. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1. Section 1(A) of Ordinance 1594-89 (codified at EMC 2.74.010), is amended as follows, <br /> with underlined text added: <br /> The workweek for all appointive officers of the city shall be established by the mayor in <br /> accordance with what the Mayor s{1e deems necessary and appropriate for the efficient <br /> functioning of the city government. One workday is equivalent to a regular eight (8) hours for <br /> full-time employees and is pro-rated according to the number of hours worked per pay period <br /> for part-time employees. Appointive officers who are FLSA exempt shall in no instance be <br /> accorded premium pay for the following: overtime, call back or, if necessary,for working on a <br /> holiday designated in this chapter. No appointive officer shall be accorded premium pay for <br /> longevity. <br /> Section 2. Section 1(B) of Ordinance 1594-89, as amended (codified at EMC 2.74.020), is amended <br /> as follows,with strikeout text deleted and underlined text added: <br /> The city will offer insurance plans to all appointive officers comprised of the following on terms and <br /> conditions determined by the city: <br /> A. Basic and major medical,vision,and dental coverage for the appointive officer and eligible <br /> dependents, provided the full-time officer makes a fifteen ten percent or five percent contribution toward <br /> the cost of the medical coverage,depending on the medical plan selected. Part-time officers working less <br />
