The WA <br />State Department of Transportation provided a $366,550 grant through the Pedestrian <br />and Bicycle Safety program and the City provided local matching funds in the amount of <br />$228,048 for a total cost of $594,598. <br />Project summary statement: <br />The Pacific Avenue to Interurban Trail Bicycle Safety Project had three separate <br />elements that enhanced pedestrian safety and non -motorized transportation. The first <br />improvement was work completed on the regional bicycle network (RBN) link which <br />designed and constructed a signed bicycle route linking downtown bicycle lanes on Hoyt <br />Avenue to a separate project accessing the Interurban Trail at 41st and Colby. The <br />second improvement made upgrades to sidewalks and ADA ramps to enhance <br />pedestrian access to the waterfront. Lastly, signage and pavement markings were added <br />to 19th Street linking Jackson Park to the downtown bike lanes. <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Adopt an Ordinance closing a special improvement project entitled "Pacific Avenue to <br />Interurban Trail Bicycle Safety Project" Fund 303, Program 112, as established by <br />Ordinance No. 3591-18. <br />
