The <br />budget for the project is $22,100,000 <br />Project summary statement: <br />The purpose of this project is to replace the aging infrastructure at Reservoir No. 2 The <br />existing 107-year old structure will be replaced with a new storage reservoir to address <br />the risk of catastrophic failure of the western and southern embankments which are in <br />poor condition. <br />Design work began January 2017 when City Council authorized a Professional Services <br />Agreement with Murray, Smith & Associates. Currently the project is at 90% design <br />review and Public Works anticipates asking City Council to authorize a call for <br />construction bids in the next 60 days <br />The construction phase is estimated to begin in early 2021. <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Adopt an Ordinance creating a special improvement project entitled "Reservoir No. 2 <br />Replacement' Fund 336, Program 017. <br />
