Counci President Item Cover Sheet Consideration: Plans & Systems Ordinance Project: Reservoir No. 2 Replacement Partner/Supplier: Location: 702 Edwards Avenue Preceding action: Professional Services Agreement - Murray, Smith & Associates 1/25/17 Fund: 336 — Water & Sewer System Improvements Fund Fiscal summary statement: The funding source for this project will be Fund 401 Water and Sewer Utility Fund. The budget for the project is $22,100,000 Project summary statement: The purpose of this project is to replace the aging infrastructure at Reservoir No. 2 The existing 107-year old structure will be replaced with a new storage reservoir to address the risk of catastrophic failure of the western and southern embankments which are in poor condition. Design work began January 2017 when City Council authorized a Professional Services Agreement with Murray, Smith & Associates. Currently the project is at 90% design review and Public Works anticipates asking City Council to authorize a call for construction bids in the next 60 days The construction phase is estimated to begin in early 2021. Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): Adopt an Ordinance creating a special improvement project entitled "Reservoir No. 2 Replacement' Fund 336, Program 017.
