TO BE COMPLETED BY APPLICANT EVALUATION FOR
AGENCY USE ONLY
1)Describe special emergency services that might be required.
No special emergency services are required. Should an emergency take place, local
police, fire, and medical units should cover any immediate needs.
2)Proposed measures to reduce or control environmental health hazards,if any:
No environmental health hazards are anticipated.
b. Noise
1)What types of noise exist in the area which may affect your project(for example:
traffic, equipment,operation,other)?
Residential noise and related urban automobile traffic noise exist in the area and
will not affect this project. Short-term noise would consist of operating
construction machinery and equipment to construct the trail and amenities
during daylight hours authorized for construction by City of Everett ordinance.
2)What types and levels of noise would be created by or associated with the project on
a short-term or a long-term basis(for example:traffic, construction, operation,
other)?Indicate what hours noise would come from the site.
Construction machinery and trucks will create noise during the project.
3)Proposed measures to reduce or control noise impacts,if any:
None needed.
8. Land and shoreline use
a. What is the current use of the site and adjacent properties?
The South Everett Forest Preserve consists of an undeveloped parcel, which is
owned by the City of Everett.A regional trail (Interurban Trail) runs north to south
off-site and adjacent to the eastern edge of the South Everett Forest Preserve. This
regional trail is used for bicycling, walking, and jogging. There are numerous
informal trails on the site that are used by local residents and by pedestrians who
gain access from the Interurban Trail. Homeless uses and camp sites are have
occurred on the property in the past and this use may have been attracted by the
secluded nature of the site and the inconspicuous connection to the Interurban
Trail.
The built environment surrounding the site contains a mixture of single-family
residential neighborhoods and transportation corridors. The western edge of the
site is bordered by residential areas, while the eastern edge is bordered by the
Interurban Trail system, and west of Interstate 5 (1-5).The southern edge abuts an
electrical substation operated by Snohomish County Public Utility District No. 1,
and the northern edge consists of an undeveloped forested easement and lot
owned by the City of Everett. Informal trails are located on the southern portion of
City of Everett Parks and Recreation:South Everett Forest Preserve Page I 1
SEPA Checklist June 19,2015
