Nicholas has a M.S. in Forest Resources and an M.P.A.from the University of Washington. He has dual Bachelors degrees in Geological Sciences and French from the University of Michigan. • Years with Forterra: 12 years Joanna Nelson de Flores (Urban Forestry Lead, Forterra) brings over 15 years of experience implementing and managing local restoration programs and projects.She began at Forterra as a founding staff member of the Green Seattle Partnership in 2005, a nationally recognized community-based urban forest stewardship program. She now oversees Forterra's growing Green Cities and riparian restoration programs working in partnership with cities,counties,state agencies, private property owners, community members, and local. businesses in the Puget Sound region to restore and care for urban forests, natural areas, creeks, and rivers. Joanna specializes in coordinating restoration program logistics; building partner relationships with city staff,community leaders,and organizations; and establishing tracking systems to measure program success. Joanna Served as project lead working in collaboration with a team of Forterra and Everett Parks staff to establish the Green Everett Partnership, • including a natural areas forest assessment,a 20-year restoration plan, and a volunteer program to support the restoration and maintenance of Everett's forested parks and natural areas.
