Proposal for Geotechnical Engineering Services Landau Associates <br /> • Excess cuttings from our proposed borings(if any)will be left onsite. <br /> • Evaluation and recommendations for temporary dams needed to divert water from Chaplain <br /> Creek during construction is not included in our scope of work. <br /> • Wetland identification and mitigation is not included in our scope of work. <br /> • The new bridge is not considered to be an essential structure requiring analysis for seismic <br /> loads, liquefaction potential,and earthquake induced settlement.These analyses will not be <br /> performed. <br /> • The new bridge and head walls will be designed in accordance with conventional Allowable <br /> Stress Design methods,not in accordance with the American Association of State Highway <br /> Transportation Officials(AASHTO) LRFD Bridge Design specifications or the WSDOT <br /> Geotechnical Design Manual. <br /> • Borings may be terminated at depths shallower than proposed above if auger refusal is <br /> encountered very dense to hard gravelly soils and/or boulders and cobbles.Attempts to drill <br /> to the target depths with other equipment will not be performed. <br /> Estimated Schedule <br /> We are prepared to initiate the work described in this proposal within 2 weeks of your authorization to <br /> proceed;the draft report will be available approximately 4 to 5 weeks after completion of the field work <br /> receiving notice to proceed. <br /> Estimated Budget <br /> The estimated budget for this proposed scope of services is $15,610. Services will be provided on a <br /> time-and-expenses basis according to the compensation schedule and in accordance with a Professional <br /> Services Agreement prepared by the City of Everett. <br /> March 25,2016 3 <br />
