Proposal for Geotechnical Engineering Services Landau Associates • Excess cuttings from our proposed borings(if any)will be left onsite. • Evaluation and recommendations for temporary dams needed to divert water from Chaplain Creek during construction is not included in our scope of work. • Wetland identification and mitigation is not included in our scope of work. • The new bridge is not considered to be an essential structure requiring analysis for seismic loads, liquefaction potential,and earthquake induced settlement.These analyses will not be performed. • The new bridge and head walls will be designed in accordance with conventional Allowable Stress Design methods,not in accordance with the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials(AASHTO) LRFD Bridge Design specifications or the WSDOT Geotechnical Design Manual. • Borings may be terminated at depths shallower than proposed above if auger refusal is encountered very dense to hard gravelly soils and/or boulders and cobbles.Attempts to drill to the target depths with other equipment will not be performed. Estimated Schedule We are prepared to initiate the work described in this proposal within 2 weeks of your authorization to proceed;the draft report will be available approximately 4 to 5 weeks after completion of the field work receiving notice to proceed. Estimated Budget The estimated budget for this proposed scope of services is $15,610. Services will be provided on a time-and-expenses basis according to the compensation schedule and in accordance with a Professional Services Agreement prepared by the City of Everett. March 25,2016 3
