Under this new agreement, the <br />booking fee increases from $126.97 to $128.88; the daily housing fee changes from a three-tier <br />structure of $103.25 regular/$162.58 medical/$246.50 mental health to a flat daily maintenance <br />fee of $142.63; and the hourly video court fee increases from $199.29 to $207.96 for 2021. These <br />fees increase to $134.70, $187.46 and $223.12, respectively, for 2022 and increase three (3) <br />percent per calendar year thereafter. <br />Project summary statement: <br />The City of Everett contracts with Snohomish County for secure confinement of arrestees and <br />inmates booked into jail by the Everett Police Department or sentenced by Everett Municipal <br />Court. The proposed Interlocal Agreement for Jail Services replaces the existing contract to <br />reflect an increase in the booking, daily housing and video court fees. These new fees were <br />implemented January 1, 2021, with the contract remaining in effect until December 31, 2023. <br />The agreement term may be extended up to two (2) additional three (3) year periods by written <br />notice from Snohomish County. <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Authorize the Mayor to sign the Interlocal Agreement for jail services provided by Snohomish <br />County, and subsequent extensions allowed per the current agreement. <br />
