Geotechnical Engineering Report- Revised lierracon <br /> Proposed CFT Retail Everett,Washington <br /> February 1, 2018 Terracon Project No. 81185002 <br /> 3.2 Typical Profile <br /> Based on the results of the test pits and borings, subsurface conditions on the project site can be <br /> generalized as follows: <br /> Approximate Depth to Consistency/ <br /> Stratum Bottom of Stratum Material Description <br /> (feet) Density <br /> 1 1 '/2 to 3 inches Asphalt - <br /> 2 1 to 7 Fill of primarily silty sand with variable silt Loose to Medium <br /> and gravel content(FILL) Dense <br /> 3 6'/z to 12'/z Silty sand with variable silt and gravel Medium Dense to <br /> content (Weathered Glacial Till) Dense <br /> 4 Undertermined' Silty sand with variable silt and gravel Very Dense <br /> content (Glacial Till) <br /> 1. Deeper borings were terminated within this stratum. <br /> Stratums 1 through 4 were characterized by observations from soil borings. Specific conditions <br /> encountered at each boring location are indicated on the individual boring logs. Stratification <br /> boundaries on the boring logs represent the approximate location of changes in soil types; in-situ, <br /> the transition between materials may be gradual. Details for each of the borings can be found on <br /> the boring logs included in Appendix A of this report. <br /> Laboratory tests were conducted on selected soil samples which targeted characterization of <br /> Stratums 2, 3, and 4. The test results are presented in Appendix B. Laboratory test results of <br /> these selected samples indicate that the fines content (percent by weight of material passing the <br /> #200 sieve) ranged from about 20 to 34 percent. <br /> 3.3 Groundwater <br /> The soil borings were observed during advancement for the presence and level of groundwater. <br /> We observed evidence of groundwater within one (1)of the 8 borings. The source of groundwater <br /> is relatively deep, existing within the unweathered glacial till unit of boring B-7.
