The attached report <br /> presents our findings and recommendations for the geotechnical aspects of project design and construction. <br /> Soil conditions observed in the test pits and CPTs at the site consist of 4.5 feet to 8.5 feet of fill overlying native <br /> alluvial soils. The alluvial soils consist of sands underlain by a 10- to 12-foot thick layer of soft, compressible <br /> silt and clay that is in turn underlain by medium dense to dense sands. Groundwater was encountered at depths <br /> ranging from 5 feet to 12.8 feet. <br /> In our opinion, soil and groundwater conditions at the site will be suitable for support of the development as <br /> plannedprovided recommendations contained herein are incorporated into project designand construction 1 <br /> 2P <br /> specifications. Site preparation to mitigate potential building settlements due to consolidation of the organic silt <br /> layer consists of ground improvement by surcharging the building pad area.
