The proposed handicapped restroom does not appear to meet the requirements for <br /> barrier free access. Barrier free access is the perview of the local building official. Two <br /> items which I believe need addressing; <br /> A) Requirement for a grab bar along one-side and the back of the toilet; and <br /> B) Requirement for a 5 foot in diameter tuming circle with a maximum of 12" <br /> overlap by the door swing. <br /> 2. I recommend placement of the si�R in each birth room be near the entry door to that <br /> room for easier access for handwashing and as a visual reminder when entering or <br /> leaving the room. <br /> 3. I recommend review of the placement of the sinks in the birth room restrooms. ;>Iooks <br /> like they will cause for difficult access to the toilet. <br /> 4. The previous floor plan included a room for Office/Lab. Are these functions being <br /> eliminated or where will they occur7 <br /> 5. Where wili the two (2) water heaters be located7 On the previous fioor plan the water <br /> heater was in the soiled utility room. <br /> END OF REVIEW COMMENTS <br />
