Note that the change may be gaduaL In • the fieid, we classified the samples taken from the explorations according to the methods presented on Figure A-1 - Key to Fxploration L,o�.s. This figure also provides a ]egend explaining the symbols and abbreviations used m the ]ogs. Location o[Ezplorarions. Figure 2 shows the ]ocation of explorations, located by hand taping or pacing from existing physical features. The ground siuface elevations at these locations were interpreted from � elevabons of existing monitoring wells across the site. The method ued determines the accuracy of the ]ocation and elevation of the explorations. 7Tu Use af Auger Borin� With depths ran�ng from 43 to 43.5 feet below the ground surface, frve hollow-stem auger borings, desigiated HC-1 throueh HC-5, were drilled from October ?2, 1992 to October 26, 1992. The borines used a 3'/e- inch inside diameter h�ilow-stem auger and were advanced with a truck- mounted drill rig subcontracted by Hart Crowser.
