These data have been
reviewed and interpretapons made in the text of the reporL Note,
however, that fluctuations in the goundwater level occur due to
variations in rainfall, dde,,temperature, and other factors at the time
measurements are made.
Groundwater monitoring wells were installed during the environmental
assessment of the property. Measurements made in November 1991
indicate that the oundwater level is roughty at an elevation of 14 to
14'h feet at the site. The shallow oundwater is under unconfined
condidons. The direcdon of shallow groundwater flow appears to be to
the north; however, orily one set of water level measurements was
made. Due to the proximity of Puget Saund (bordering the properry to
the west), it is possfbie that goundwater flow is aff'ected by the tides
and may vary with time.
As noted on the baring logs, the groundwater ]evel at the time of
cin7ling (ATD) was roughly 6'fz to 9 feet below gade. This corresponds
to elevations of 9 to il'i4 feet Groundwater ]evels measured this way
aze less accurate than those taken from finished wells.
GEOTECffi`IIC,L VGLYEERIlVG DSIGN RECObII1NllATIONS
In this section we address site preparation and grading, foundations,
s]abs-on-ade, anticipated settlements, retaining walls, drainage,
pavements, seismic considerations and other recommendations.
Site Pmparation and Grading
Initial preparation of the site for building construc6on and pavement
support should include demolition of temporary structures, their
foundations, and pavements.
