This is acceptable provided that the walls do <br /> not have structural framing crossing through them. The room essentially becomes a shaft extending up to the roof <br /> sheathing. If this change is made,you will need to redline the building drawings. Also,we will still need a detail for the <br /> pipe penetrations of the gas lines through the walls. If the design remains as is, let me know so I can verify some of the <br /> items we discussed regarding the ducts and whether the wrap and dampers are sufficient to meet the shaft <br /> requirements.
