We often defer the placement of interior signs until the rack submittal; the proposed note is fine for the interior
signs. But we still require the high/low signs at the exits as the low sign can be obscured by lower displays or temporary
items. The intermediate signs are often located a distance from the exit. These two things combined can make it more
difficult to locate the exit.
Drew Martin, P.E.,S.E.
LIAssociate Engineer—Commercial Plans Examiner I Permit Services
425.257.8813 13200 Cedar Street, 2nd Floor, Everett,WA 98201
EVERETT Hours: Monday—Friday 7:30am-12:00pm and 1:oopm-4:oopm
everettwa.gov I Facebook I Twitter
Note:Emails and attachments sent to and from the City of Everett are public records and may be subject to disclosure pursuant to the Public
Records Act.
From:Jessica Bradley<JessicaBradley@nelsonww.com>
Sent:Wednesday,October 2, 2019 2:11 PM
To: Drew Martin<dmartin@everettwa.gov>
Subject: RE: City of Everett Permit Services: 607 Riverside Road (B1909-09)- First Building Review-clarification question
Drew:
I've been working on our response to our permit comments.
May I ask you a question about one of the comments?
In comment#2,you request both low and high exit.signs at the exit doors.
In our experience, this is not required at exit doors.
We DO typically see additional exit signs installed in between racks, as part of the racking permit.
At this time, the racking solution is not defined.
If we add the following note to sheet A0.1,would this satisfy your concern?
Racking solution is not known at this time-a separate, future racking permit will be submitted. Future racking permit will
include additional exit signs required specific to racking layout.
Thanks in advance.
9/70
