E V E R E T T City Council Agenda Item Cover Sheet
Project title: Adopt a Resolution Declaring a 1999 Kubota L35 Backhoe Loader Surplus and Authorizing Sale
at Public Auction
Council Bill #
Agenda dates requested:
March 3, 2021
Briefing
Proposed action
Consent X
Action
Ordinance
Public hearing
Yes
X No
Budget amendment:
Yes X No
PowerPoint presentation:
Yes X No
Attachments:
Resolution
Department(s) involved:
Procurement, Motor
Vehicles, and Public Works
Contact person:
Theresa Bauccio-Teschlog
Phone number:
(425) 257-8901
Email:
tbauccio@everettwa.gov
Initialed by:
Department head
Administration
Council President
Consideration: Resolution declaring a 1999 Kubota L35 Backhoe Loader (H0021) surplus
Project: Surplus and sale of a 1999 Kubota L35 Backhoe Loader (H0021)
Partner/Supplier:
Location:
Preceding action: none
Fund: Fund 401 Utilities
Fiscal summary statement:
Funds received from this surplus sale will be returned to Fund 401 Utilities.
Project summary statement:
Public Works Utilities owns a 1999 Kubota L35 backhoe Loader (H0021) with 2,487 engine hours.
H0021 was previously owned by the Parks & Facilities Department. Parks & Facilities traded
H0021 in exchange for H0036, a larger -sized 2005 Kubota backhoe. In 2020, H0036 had been
replaced by H0073 as part of the approved 2020 vehicle and equipment replacement list. In lieu
of surplusing H0036, Parks and Facilities requested the equipment in exchange for an older
backhoe loader, H0021, with the understanding that H0021 would be surplused to make up the
differential in value between the two units, as payment to Utilities. H0021 then transferred to
Utilities, which is surplusing the equipment. The estimated surplus value is $10,000.
Recommendation (exact action requested of Council):
Adopt a Resolution Declaring a 1999 Kubota L35 Backhoe Loader Surplus and Authorizing Sale at
Public Auction.
