This model
year of Ford F-550 with the diesel engine is known for random major engine issues, and has had
engine repairs completed many times over its lifetime. Both J0077 and N0019 were used at the
water filtration plant and were the water filtration plant's sole snowplow -equipped dump truck.
This unit was critical to winter operations at the water filtration plant and was replaced to ensure
continued operations. Selling J0077 and N0019 as a unit is estimated to bring a greater return at
auction than selling J0077 and N0019 separately. The estimated surplus value for the
combination is $10,000.
J0077 and N0019 were replaced in the 2020 vehicle replacement plan by J0178 and N0063, which
are both in-service at the water filtration plant.
Recommendation (exact action requested of Council):
Adopt a Resolution declaring a 2006 Ford F-550 crew cab dump truck and Sno-King 934-DT
snowplow surplus and authorizing sale at public auction.
