City of Everett Water Treatment Plant Facility Plan Amendment 2 I Scope of Work <br />Activities/Approach: <br />• Contact pipe testing laboratories to determine options for testing representative samples of the <br />existing hypochlorite pipe to estimate the remaining useful service life of the existing piping. <br />• Develop a cost estimate for pipe material testing and recommendations of locations for <br />gathering pipe samples within the hypochlorite facility. <br />• Contact pipe manufacturers and suppliers to identify the universe of the pipe materials suitable <br />for conveying hypochlorite solutions. <br />• Assemble performance data and market availability for each pipe material. <br />• Gather pipe and fitting material costs from pipe suppliers and develop a representative cost <br />estimate for the replacement of the hypochlorite pipe. <br />• Compare the available pipe materials based on performance characteristics, representative cost <br />estimates, and operation and maintenance criteria. <br />• Develop a recommendation for the pipe material best suited for the replacement of PVC <br />hypochlorite pipe. Review recommendations with BC senior technical staff. <br />• Develop a short (maximum 10 page) technical memo summarizing pipe material alternatives <br />and a recommendation for replacement pipe material. <br />Everett Responsibilities <br />• Provide input pipe material evaluation criteria. <br />Work Products <br />• Sodium Hypochlorite Pipe Material Replacement Analysis technical memorandum, draft and <br />final. <br />Task 111b. Generator Design Review (completed) <br />Activities/Approach: The City requested that BC provide advisory review related to the City's Water <br />Filtration Plant generator replacement project. Specifically, BC was requested to review draft interim <br />design materials, and to provide feedback on key considerations that the City should take into <br />account in selecting voltage for a new power generation system at the WFP. <br />Support includes: <br />• Review design and background materials provided by the City <br />• Participate in conference calls with City staff to verify understanding of operational needs and <br />discuss key considerations for City staff <br />• Deliver feedback in the form of written and verbal key considerations for generator selection <br />Everett Responsibilities <br />• Provide design and background materials to support the review. <br />• Participate in design review conference calls. <br />Work Products <br />• Written and verbal key comments on key considerations for City selection of a new medium <br />voltage (12.47 kV) or low voltage (480V) replacement generator system. <br />Task 111c. Finished Water Pump Station Assessment (partially completed. future work remaining) <br />Activities/Approach: To be determined, based on City requests.
