This ordinance does nothing to solve the issue of homelessness in Everett. Folks will be forced to <br />uproot themselves and either move or face jail time resulting in a use of funds for criminalizing people who are simply <br />trying to survive rather than getting them access to the resources they need. If the city is truly dedicated to taking care <br />of all citizens, then the council should strike down this ordinance and dedicate time and resources to addressing the <br />needs of houseless people instead of creating bandaid solutions that will harm people and prevent them from <br />interacting with folks who can offer them assistance that the city won't provide.
