It feel off the post on Sunday and needed to be
reinstalled.
I have attached the drawing Sheet List and the TOC for the specification for your use. Please let me know if
you have any questions. You should be able to simply cut and paste as you like.
I have reviewed the EMC 10.20 and have a question for the intake person that made this request. The building
is existing and we are not adding any floors nor are we changing the existing building height. Based on EMC
10.20 they do want the building height calculated in floors so my next question is because the break room
floor level is within the first floor height do we count it?
Two ways to calculate:
Breakroom level as second level: Main Level counting from floor height from sidewalk mid building on Colby is
approximately 18' tall which is greater than 15' so it is calculated as a fraction of 18'/15'which equals 1.125
which rounds down to 1 floor. The Breakroom level is 11' tall which is greater than 10' so it is calculated as a
fraction of 11'/10' which equals 1.1 which rounds down to 1 floor making the building a total of 2 floors.
Breakroom level not included because it is within the Main Level height: Main Level counting from floor height
from sidewalk mid building on Colby is approximately 18' tall which is greater than 15' so it is calculated as a
fraction of 18'/15' which equals 1.125 which rounds down to 1 floor.
This is my understanding of their calculation method. I will follow up with you and the intake person on how
best to respond to their question.
Thank you,
KURT NELSON
Architect
2020 NEWH Top Hospitality Interior Design Firms
2020 PSBJ Top Architecture Firms
RICE FERGUS MILLER
275 Fifth Street,Suite 100, Bremerton WA 98337
rfmarch.com
O 360-377-8773
D 360-362-1878
Click Here for Confidentiality Notice&Full Copyright Disclosure
1
